The Dock Station is used as a quick short cut to access applications. when an application is open, the Dock displays an illuminated dash beneath the application's icon. To make any currently running application the active one.
The Finder is the first thing that you see when your Mac finishes starting up. It opens automatically and stays open as you use other apps. By default, items in Launchpad are in alphabetical order. You can re-arrange icons on Launchpad by dragging them in the order you want.
If there's not enough room to show all of your apps on one screen, Launchpad creates multiple pages. The dots at the bottom of the Launchpad screen show you how many pages of apps there are, and which page you are currently viewing.

Quit applications that are running there is an option in the tool bar at the top and also there is a force quit if the application runs into any issues with shutting down.
Connecting to skinner
click finder go and connect to sever type skinner and the finder will connect to the sever and allow you to access the need information.
